Election Watch Number Three

Posted Friday March 20, 2009 by John Gunders in |

One day to go, and if the pundits predicting an LNP victory—or at least a hung parliament—aren’t correct, the ALP evidently thinks they are close to the mark.

I live in the safe Labor seat of Mt Ommaney, with an estimated (after a redistribution) margin of over 11%, and yet election material I received during the week from local member Julie Attwood contains no reference to the ALP or Anna Bligh at all. “Keeping a Strong Voice in Government” is the closest it gets to acknowledging the party.

When a very popular local member finds it necessary to dissociate herself from her party, its a pretty good indication that the polling is bad.

Going to be a bumpy ride tomorrow night, I think.
