John Gunders is Project Officer for the ARC Cultural Research Network and PhD candidate in the School of English, Media Studies and Art History at the University of Queensland.
His current research is into the mobilisation of concepts of authenticity in popular cultural texts, and what that can reveal about the way people make meaning of their world. This theme is being examined through examinations of popular music writing, food television, and travel writing.
John Mackenzie is a community organiser with Friends of the Earth, and a lecturer in environmental politics at the University of Queensland. His interests include climate justice, cultural animation, political ecology and transformative praxis. He is currently infatuated with the theoretical treatises of Situationist Movement.
